1 Peter 5:7 “…casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

Hebrews 10:35 “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.”

The Scripture plainly admonishes us to cast all our care upon Him, but to hold on to our confidence in Him. So many times we do just the opposite; we abandon our confidence in Him and try to carry our cares and burdens by ourselves. It is His desire that we put all our cares and burdens on Him and be careful for nothing – “…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith...” (Hebrews 12:2). But, so many times we get so caught up in and surrounded by the “cares” of life that we are distracted by the apparent and lose sight of the actual. Remember, “while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18

If we could just let Him take care of our problems while we attend to being what He created us to be and doing the work He has given us to do, we would find our hearts free from that friction that eats away at our faith and denies us the freedom that He bought and paid for on our behalf at the cross. If we are not careful the most of our time and energy will be expended on carrying what God has asked us to cast on Him. And our confidence, the one thing He said to keep, will be cast away along with our reward. If we’ll keep our confidence; He’ll keep our cares!

Is your faith under attack right now? Are you going through something that is bigger than your ability? Here’s some good advice. Proverbs 3:5-8Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.”

Keep praying!
